* Union Project Update - www.unionproject.org - _ Ongoing Stained Glass Restoration Classes_* The registration deadline for April classes is April 1. Many of the April classes will begin working on the sanctuary windows of the Union Project. These beautiful windows are some of the most visible stained glass windows in the building, and will be seen by thousands of people for many years to come. Saturday morning classes and Thursday evening classes are being offered. Also, new in April, will be our weekend stained glass intensive. Class members will work from Friday evening thru Sunday afternoon to completely restore their windows. Lunch will be included on 2 days, and a smaller class will allow for more student/teacher interaction. Class members will see the fruits of their labor almost instantly. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh. The conference will focus on leadership, change and transformation. It will feature two concurrent sessions that include 13 workshops on all aspects of change – planning, leading, crafting, facilitating, raising money for, advocating for, marketing for and more. It will also include five “town hall” meetings that focus on community issues such as healthy children, youth, and families; thriving neighborhoods, civic engagement, viable economies, and creative communities. The main topic of the meeting will be house histories with examples and tips on how you can do your own research. The dealers don't even live there! In the 800 block, dealers are actually dropped off in the morning to "do business" and they leave at night. And very few people see this because half the properties on the 800 block are owned (and have been for years) by the Highland Park CDC and have yet to be developed into livable spaces! WHY CAN'T SOMETHING BE DONE? Please explain to me? My husband and I have been fighting the good fight for 6 years, we've seen our supporting neighbors sell to slumlords because they couldn't stand it any longer. We need GOOD NEIGHBORS, NO BEER SALES, AND POLICE INTERVENTION TO GET RID OF THE DRUG DEALERS in order to fix things. If anyone observes illegal activity, PLEASE call 911 and report the activity. A good description of the persons involved, vehicles plates ect., are useful. Additionally, I am working with Rodman Street Missionary Church to "Adopt the Block" to assist with intervention, prevention and revitalization efforts.
