Before the semi-balmy temperatures and sun melt them down, check out the incredible snow sculptures in Dog Park (the one across the street from the Farmhouse). There's a bird (peace dove?) and a dog...both are beautiful and well worth the hike to the top of the hill. There's a snow fort up there, too, if you want to have a snowball fight!

[Highland Park] Liquor Licenses up for renewal

Hello All I have been informed by both State Senator Jim Ferlo and State Representative Joe Preston Jr that the PA Liquor Control Board is preparing renewal of liquor licenses in our area. The Board is looking for assistance in identifying nuisance bars, restaurants, clubs, beer distributors or retail eating establishments. They are looking for a pattern of license abuse, such as activities involving drug activity, sales to minors, sales after hours, sales to visible intoxicated persons, lewd and immoral conduct and noisy and disorderly operations. Any information you may have should be in writing, and should be done in the next week. The information can be forwarded thru the office of our elected officials or sent directly to the Liquor Control Board. If you have any information to submit or questions, let me know. These licenses are up for renewal every 2 years, so now is the time to report to the LCB. If not now, mark your calendars for February 2007, and begin documenting any concerns of establishments that are abusing their license. Bob Staresinic HPCC President

[Highland Park] One more time... any tenors out there?

We managed to have a guest tenor for Christmas three out of seven performances, but we are still in the market for someone more permanent. Our volunteer singing group STILL needs a tenor (or a baritone who can SING tenor). We have Valentine's Day and Easter performances booked already. Does anyone out there sing for fun? Hi all. We're replacing our washer and dryer with more energy efficient ones. The electric washer works well most of the time...we sometimes have to re-spin a load of clothes to make sure they're as dry as possible. The gas dryer works great. They're probably at least 10 years old and aren't much to look at, but I'd rather find them a new home than have them hauled way.
