I have a friend who likes the Highland park/Bloomfield/ Friendship / Stanton heights area and is looking for an efficiency apt with all utilities included. Beginning occupancy early to late January. Would prefer month to month but would be willing to sign a lease for a minimum 6 months for the right place while looking for the right place to buy. Appliances included in apt. Education Innovations, Inc. has added 14 new adult classes beginning in January April 2005. Italian will continue to take place at Tazza Doro on Sundays. Also look for classes at Whole Foods Market, the Shadow Lounge, Crazy Mocha, Café Bliss, and Penn Main Café. [Highland Park] First Night

Greetings Neighbors are you interested in being a part of First Night Pittsburgh? Puppetmaker and Parade Director Cheryl Capezzuti invites Highland Park/East Liberty neighbors to make large-scale creatures for this year's parade on New Year's Eve. Last year twelve families or so participated. We all had a fantastic time making art and getting to know our neighbors. The workshop and the entire parade will be inspired by the theme "Tales of Revelry and Peace." Participants should plan to attend the parade at 8:00 p.m. on New Year's Eve in Downtown Pittsburgh. Space is limited so register EARLY. Details: Who: Parents and Children together or community adults who want to participate What: Giant Puppetmaking for the First Night Parade When: Wednesday Evenings December 8, 15, and 22 6:30-8:30 p.m. Where: Dilworth Traditional Academy for the Arts & Humanities Why: To be a part a great Pittsburgh Tradition and make the parade a huge community success To Register: Contact Tania Grubbs @ oft.ising(a)verizon.net or 412-661-4054 Workshop is free but please plan to bring recycled shoe boxes, pop bottles, milk jugs and other cool junk to the first class. Do you have an old but functional phone and/or answering machine? Union Project needs 2 or 3 old but functional telephones and one answering machine. If you have one that you'd like to donate please contact justin(a)unionproject.org. Union Project Christmas Tree Recycling Once this Christmas season has passed don't take your Christmas tree to the landfill! Union Project will accept your old tree (even if you didn't buy it from us) at the Union Project building between Saturday January 1 and Saturday, January 8. Please place your tree in the side yard in the area that has been designated for Christmas tree drop-off. Union Project members and volunteers will turn your tree into mulch for the Union Project flower beds from 12-4 pm on Saturday, January 8.
